12/14/17 The book I was reading was called, “I will save you.” This book was written by the author Matt De La Pena. The genre of this book is Realistic Fiction.  This book is about a kid named  “Kidd Ellison,” h im and his mother got abused by his father... a lot. One day his mom was done dealing with all the bs that they put up with and shot Kidd's father three times, after she shot herself in the head. Kidd was them put into a group home called Horizons and was given therapy. Kidd later ran way from the group home and ended up working in a campsite with his boss Mr.Red. Kids therapy was not fully completed so throughout the book there are many problems because of that. He met a girl named Olivia and she was like t he is the girl of his dreams. She always wears a ski cap and nobody ever knew why. This didn’t change Kidd’s opinion on how beautiful he thought she was. Kidd and Olivia are quite opposite but also very similar. Making connections - The Outsiders vs “What love isn’t”

“What love isn’t,” is such a great and very accurate poem. It explains love very well and compares to the book The Outsiders very well. They both have a lot in common. Life does not always go well, there are many troubling parts to it but we always push through it no matter what. In the poem What love isn’t there is this short excerpt that says, “It is now and till the end. It is never a slither, never a little it is a full serving it is much too much and real never pretty or clean.” This relates to my connection to the outsiders because this quote means that love is now to the end and you never give up, it's a lot to handle. Just like the Greasers. They stick together no matter what. Sometimes they might have big problems but they never give up on trying to deal with them,. Yeah it’s hard but they’re brothers. My Identity

I am a 13 year old Mexican boy who loves to play baseball. It's my passion, it's something I will always do. I am known as very tall, mostly because everyone is just really short. I am catholic, although I rarely ever go to church because there is never time to go, my family and I is still very religious. I am  a very nice person, as long as you are nice to me. A lot of things do irritate me though. When I'm mad, I am really mad. I could go from that frustrated type of mad to WW2 mad. I don't know, I just turn into a very rude person when angered. I talk a lot. I could talk to anyone and then it turns into a full on conversation. I have a very enthusiastic humorous personality. I’m really loud, I’m extra about everything. That’s just me.
